About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail setting. This role involves learning pharmacy operations, following company policies, and delivering customer service.
What you'll do#
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist pharmacists with patient counseling, blood pressure checks, and medication therapy management.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Perform register duties, handle cash, and assist customers with locating products.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly pharmacy department.
- Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist's direct attention.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
