About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team in daily operations while learning to provide patient care in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within your state scope of practice.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist's direct attention.
- Manage inventory tasks, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Register sales at the cash register.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay informed on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
