About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will support the pharmacy team in delivering clinical services, managing daily operations, and ensuring patients receive accurate medication and care. This role is a full-time, paid position based in Broussard, Louisiana.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage and potential interactions.
- Perform clinical and wellness services, including administering immunizations.
- Review, interpret, and verify prescribed medications to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflows and assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Help the pharmacy manager monitor inventory, manage financials, and train staff.
- Process insurance claims and collaborate with the local medical community to address patient needs.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus and StoreNET.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
