About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team in daily operations, patient care, and customer service while learning to apply pharmacy policies and procedures. This is a part-time, paid position based in Terre Haute, Indiana.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff in providing patient care and health services.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient or drug information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle sales transactions at the cash register.
- Manage inventory tasks including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the direct attention of a pharmacist.
- Complete all required training and follow company, state, and federal policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
