About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and the pharmacy team. You will follow state and federal regulations while gaining experience in pharmacy systems, prescription processing, and customer service. This role involves learning pharmacy policies and procedures to prepare for a future career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information, drug details, and process prescriptions.
- Greet customers, offer assistance, and resolve questions or concerns.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care and health services within the state scope of practice.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Manage telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Keep the Pharmacy Department clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as directed by the pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
