About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will provide essential consulting services to customers regarding medication use and preventive healthcare. You will support the pharmacy manager in daily operations, focusing on workflow efficiency, financial performance, and inventory management. This full-time role involves direct patient interaction and collaboration with the local medical community.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services and counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Deliver clinical and wellness services, including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness education.
- Support pharmacy operations by managing opening and closing procedures and ensuring accurate insurance claim processing.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus, registers, and automation tools.
- Build and maintain relationships with local physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and promote a positive pharmacy experience.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a certified immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
