About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in retail pharmacy operations. This role focuses on learning how to provide patient care and support the pharmacy team while complying with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations.
- Enter, process, fill, and dispense prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
- Obtain necessary patient and drug information.
- Deliver patient care services, including medication therapy management, blood pressure screenings, and counseling.
- Handle customer interactions, resolve questions, and assist with product location.
- Manage inventory tasks such as ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle phone calls.
- Maintain the pharmacy area to ensure it remains clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
