About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while gaining clinical experience. This role focuses on providing patient care, managing medication workflows, and assisting the pharmacy management team in a retail setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, including medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Perform clinical and wellness services such as administering immunizations and flu shots.
- Handle the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with workflow optimization, inventory management, and staff training.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus and StoreNET.
- Participate in community outreach activities to support pharmacy growth.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a Certified Immunizer or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
