About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by working alongside pharmacists and pharmacy team members. You will gain hands-on experience by following state and federal regulations while developing the skills needed for a career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving concerns to ensure a positive experience.
- Support patient care services within the state scope of practice, such as medication therapy management and blood pressure checks.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, stocked, and orderly.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the direct attention of a pharmacist.
- Operate the cash register for sales and handle cash transactions.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete required training and special assignments as directed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
