About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations, customer service, and clinical services. This role is designed to help you develop the skills needed to perform as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Enter, process, fill, and dispense prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
- Deliver patient care services, such as counseling, blood pressure checks, and medication therapy management.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Manage inventory tasks, including ordering, unpacking, and checking shipments.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Maintain the pharmacy department's cleanliness and organization.
- Report prescription errors to the pharmacist and follow the Quality Improvement Program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
