About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will work on-site to support clinical operations and patient care. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling start date. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while working toward your professional goals.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage and drug interactions.
- Offer preventive healthcare services, including immunizations.
- Handle compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing duties and shift changes.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with financial analysis, inventory management, and staff training.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and answer health-related questions.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
- Participate in community outreach to promote pharmacy services.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or a plan to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a Certified Immunizer or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
