About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. This role focuses on gaining practical experience in pharmacy operations, customer service, and clinical tasks under the supervision of licensed pharmacists. You will work in a retail pharmacy setting in Lincolnton, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team in processing prescriptions and using pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Engage with customers and patients to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide assistance with products and services.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within your state scope of practice.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage telephone inquiries that do not require a pharmacist.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow company policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing and asset protection.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
