About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and the pharmacy team. You will use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information. This role focuses on gaining practical experience in pharmacy operations while delivering a positive customer experience.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in delivering patient care within the state scope of practice.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle cash as required.
- Support the Pharmacy Department with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments.
- Maintain the appearance and organization of the Pharmacy Department.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Perform tasks as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
