About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy systems, adhering to state and federal regulations, and gaining practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with processing prescriptions, including data entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and assisting with products or services.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care, such as counseling and health services.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing shipments.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist's direct attention.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Register sales at the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
