About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team in daily operations, patient care, and prescription processing while learning company policies and industry best practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with prescription entry, filling, and dispensing tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient data and drug information.
- Interact with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and helping them locate products.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Process sales at the register and manage cash transactions.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow quality improvement protocols.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
