About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will assist the pharmacy team in providing patient care. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role involves learning pharmacy operations, handling prescriptions, and ensuring customers receive helpful service. You will follow state and federal regulations while developing your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Support patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within your state scope of practice.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete required training and stay informed on pharmacy developments.
- Handle phone calls that do not require the direct attention of a pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to following the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.

- Location: Matawan, New Jersey.

- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
