About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations, patient care, and prescription processing. This position is designed to help you learn pharmacy policies and procedures while developing your customer service skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and access patient information.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle cash register transactions and sales.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
