About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and the pharmacy team. You will use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information. This role focuses on developing your skills in pharmacy operations and customer service while you work toward your future career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services.
- Engage customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Process prescriptions and handle related sales on the cash register.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and follow state, federal, and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
