About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide quality patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations, policy, and customer service. This role is intended to help you develop the skills needed to perform as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Engage customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle non-clinical telephone calls.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Follow company asset protection techniques and maintain a clean, organized department.
- Complete special assignments and tasks as directed by pharmacy leadership.
- Learn and champion pharmacy policies and best practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
