About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations, handle administrative tasks, and gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This position is part-time and operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
- Process prescriptions and handle related sales on the cash register.
- Engage with customers and patients to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, stocked, and organized.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
