About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting the pharmacy team in a retail setting. You will learn to navigate pharmacy systems, follow state and federal regulations, and develop the skills necessary to perform as a future pharmacist. This position is part-time and operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations.
- Process prescriptions and obtain patient and drug information using pharmacy systems.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide assistance.
- Perform pharmacy duties under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, including patient counseling and health services within your scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle sales transactions at the cash register and assist with inventory management, including ordering and unpacking shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
