About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. You will learn pharmacy systems, assist with prescription processing, and help maintain department standards in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient or drug information.
- Engage customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle cash register transactions and support inventory management tasks, such as stocking and unpacking shipments.
- Help healthcare providers deliver patient services and report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Manage telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist.
- Keep the pharmacy department clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Complete required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
