About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy systems, procedures, and customer service standards to prepare for a career as a pharmacist. You will work on-site in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily tasks in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide assistance.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care services, such as health screenings and counseling.
- Handle pharmacy sales on the cash register and manage inventory, including ordering and unpacking shipments.
- Perform data entry, third party processing, and prescription filling.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy department.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist's personal attention.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
