About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and the pharmacy team. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and support the daily operations of the pharmacy department. This role focuses on developing the skills and knowledge needed to perform as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Engage with customers and patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Enter, process, fill, and dispense prescriptions following company procedures.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services, such as medication therapy management.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
