About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Pharmacy Graduate Intern position located in Garden City, Kansas. You will work on-site, engaging in post-graduate pharmacy activities under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to meet State Board of Pharmacy requirements. This role operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Provide consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, side effects, and preventive healthcare.
- Support pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing duties and shift transitions.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial performance analysis, staff hiring, and training.
- Engage customers directly to resolve issues and offer assistance.
- Process insurance claims accurately and follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Deliver clinical and wellness services, such as immunizations and flu shots.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy information technology and regulatory standards.
- Participate in community outreach activities to support pharmacy growth.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
- Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
- An intern permit or certificate issued by the Board of Pharmacy, if required by the state.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure in the district within 45 days of completing intern hours.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
