About the role#
This position is for a Pharmacy Graduate Intern who holds a pharmacy degree from outside the United States. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to fulfill State Board of Pharmacy requirements while gaining practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, side effects, interactions, and contraindications.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring and training.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment rejections.
- Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services including immunizations.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
- Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
- Valid intern permit or certificate issued by the Board of Pharmacy, if required in the state.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy in the district within 45 days of completing intern hours.
- Certified Immunizer status, or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
