About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Graduate Intern position based in Houghton, Michigan. You will work on-site, performing pharmacy activities under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to meet State Board of Pharmacy requirements. This role is intended for pharmacy graduates with non-US education who are working toward pharmacist licensure.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Ensure the proper dispensation and review of prescribed medications in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Support pharmacy workflow and assist the manager with financial, inventory, and customer experience goals.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus, registers, automation, and StoreNET.
- Process insurance claims and follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Conduct virtual product reviews in virtual environments.
- Assist with staff hiring, training, and performance management.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
- A Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
- An intern permit or certificate issued by the Board of Pharmacy, if required by your state.
- A willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure in the district within 45 days of completing your intern hours.
- To be a certified immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire.
