About the role#
This position is for a Pharmacy Graduate Intern who holds a pharmacy degree from outside the United States. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to fulfill State Board of Pharmacy requirements. This is a full-time, paid role based in Cheboygan, Michigan.
What you'll do#
- Engage in pharmacy activities to support the efficient workflow of the pharmacy.
- Provide consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive health.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager with inventory management, financial performance, and staff training.
- Greet customers and help resolve their questions or issues.
- Process insurance claims and follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Perform clinical and wellness services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems, registers, and automation tools.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
- A Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
- An intern permit or certificate issued by the Board of Pharmacy, if required by your state.
- A willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days of completing your intern hours.
- You must be a certified immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire.
