About the role#
This position is for a Pharmacy Graduate Intern who holds a degree from an institution outside the United States. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to fulfill State Board of Pharmacy requirements. The role focuses on gaining practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting while providing essential healthcare services to the community.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Ensure the proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with pharmacy financials, inventory management, and improving the customer experience.
- Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Support the pharmacy team with staff hiring and training.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy information technology systems to support daily operations.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
- Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
- Valid intern permit or certificate issued by the Board of Pharmacy, if required by the state.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days of completing intern hours.
- Current certification as an immunizer or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
