About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Pharmacy Graduate Intern position. You will work on-site in Flushing, Michigan, engaging in post-graduate pharmacy activities under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role is designed to help you fulfill State Board of Pharmacy requirements while gaining experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management and financial optimization.
- Counsel patients on over-the-counter products and preventive healthcare services.
- Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services, including immunizations.
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus and StoreNET.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance management.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
- A Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
- An intern permit or certificate issued by the Board of Pharmacy, if required by your state.
- A willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy in the district states within 45 days of completing your intern hours.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
