About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Duane Reade, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations, policy, and patient service. This role is designed to help you develop the skills needed to perform as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and offer assistance with products or services.
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy by entering, processing, and filling prescriptions.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care services like medication therapy management.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage sales.
- Manage non-clinical telephone calls, including those to physicians.
- Support inventory tasks such as ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Keep the Pharmacy Department clean, organized, and properly stocked.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- The position is part-time and on-site.
