About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in centralized pharmacy services, including call center and fulfillment center environments. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care, helping you prepare for a future career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Engage with customers and patients to handle inquiries with empathy and accuracy.
- Support prescription entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Aid in patient care services, including counseling and health screenings.
- Maintain patient profiles and manage orders.
- Report prescription errors promptly and follow quality and compliance policies.
- Adhere to the Good Faith Dispensing policy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience working at Walgreens is preferred.
- Experience in filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications, is preferred.
- Moderate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office are preferred.
