Social Media Fellow

About the role#

Vocal Media is seeking Social Media Fellows to develop vertical video-first strategies for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other emerging platforms. This contract role focuses on producing content centered on news, finance, and culture. Fellows will work collaboratively with content leadership to refine strategies and contribute to cross-platform initiatives.

What you'll do#

• Dedicate 10-12 hours weekly with a flexible schedule.
• Participate in two 30-minute weekly check-ins regarding project progress.
• Produce and manage 10-15 posts per account for at least two accounts weekly across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Source, identify, and clip relevant video content from news, cultural events, and social media.
• Craft platform-optimized captions and copy that align with the voice of each account.
• Strategically utilize the company content database, including CapCut templates, trending sounds, and media assets.
• Monitor emerging trends and algorithm updates to refine the content approach.
• Track and analyze key performance metrics and audience engagement patterns.

What you'll need#

• Deep platform expertise in social media and strong trend intuition.
• Agility to produce attention-grabbing content.
• Ability to source and identify relevant video content.
• Skill in crafting platform-optimized captions.
• Relevant academic background in Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, Graphic Design, Journalism, Business Administration, Psychology, or Sociology.

• This is a remote, paid, part-time contract position.
• The role operates on a rolling basis.
