About the role#
Vocal Media is seeking Social Media Fellows to join on a contract basis to develop vertical video-first strategies across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other emerging platforms. This role focuses on creating content centered on news, finance, and culture. Fellows will work in a remote capacity with a flexible schedule.
What you'll do#
- Dedicate 10-12 hours per week to the role, including two 30-minute check-ins.
- Produce and manage 10-15 posts per account for at least two accounts each week across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
- Source, identify, and clip relevant video content from news outlets, cultural events, and social media.
- Write platform-optimized captions and copy that align with each account's specific voice.
- Utilize a content database featuring stories, photos, videos, CapCut templates, and trending sounds.
- Monitor algorithm updates and emerging trends to refine content strategies.
- Track and analyze performance metrics and engagement patterns.
- Collaborate with content leadership and other fellows on cross-platform initiatives.
What you'll need#

- Ability to produce attention-grabbing content quickly.
- Skill in sourcing relevant video content and crafting optimized captions.
- Educational background in fields such as Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, Graphic Design, Journalism, Business Administration, Psychology, or Sociology.
