About the role#
The NPI Project Intern supports the planning, design, and launch of new production processes at our manufacturing facility. You will work with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to turn designs into practical solutions. This role offers hands-on experience in facility startup, manufacturing engineering, and process implementation.
What you'll do#
- Use CAD software to assist with facility and production floor layout design.
- Create and update floor plans, equipment layouts, and technical drawings.
- Analyze product and material flow to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develop workstation configurations, line layouts, and process flow diagrams.
- Participate in the installation, setup, and commissioning of equipment.
- Conduct time studies and support lean manufacturing or safety initiatives.
- Maintain project documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- Experience using CAD software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Understanding of basic manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship located in Bowling Green, Ohio.
- The work environment involves a mix of office tasks and time on the manufacturing floor.
- You may need to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses or steel-toe shoes while in production areas.
