About the role#
The Combination Device Technologies & Innovation co-op is a 6-month program for students pursuing an advanced degree. You will join a founding team focused on developing analytical and enabling technologies for combination products. This role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of experimental data, GMP process models, and digital tools while contributing to the advancement of Biopharma CGT capabilities.
What you'll do#
- Help establish the group's analytical and enabling technology capabilities from the ground up.
- Contribute to the advancement of Biopharma CGT Combination Device Analytical Development.
- Build and enhance new capabilities for the Device Center of Excellence.
- Implement enabling technologies, including applied spectroscopy and leak detection techniques such as Vacuum Decay and HVLD.
- Contribute to AI-assisted analytical workflows, process automation, and digital tools.
- Translate internal scientific knowledge into deployable technology for combination product programs.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an MS or PhD program in Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, Applied Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of analytical chemistry, material science, or spectroscopy principles.
- Experience with laboratory techniques and instrumentation, including spectroscopic methods (FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis) or non-destructive testing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2027.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not provided).
Location & details#
- Term: January - July 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site in Boston, Massachusetts or Providence, Rhode Island.
- Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour.
