About the role#
Vannevar Labs is hiring Mission Lead Interns for Summer 2027. This role is for those who want to own mission outcomes while working directly with government stakeholders. You will identify high-value problems, shape product deployments, and turn results into funded programs. This position requires high autonomy and the ability to operate in ambiguous environments. You will coordinate across product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver results.
What you'll do#
- Embed with customer groups at their sites to build deep mission intuition.
- Build trust with users by solving their problems over time.
- Break down complex mission problems into specific, testable workflows.
- Configure product workflows to meet user needs.
- Test and troubleshoot product issues on deployed systems.
- Generate mission wins, onboard new users, and document impact.
- Develop relationships with additional user groups to identify new areas for value.
- Operate independently to set priorities and push work forward.
- Act as a company representative when working with users.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a first or second year MBA or MA student.
- Interest in business development, national security, intelligence, or defense.
- A motivated approach to problem solving and comfort with ambiguity.
- Prior DoD mission user experience, domain knowledge, or military service.
- Current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) US DoD or IC clearance.
- U.S. Persons status.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is remote, though it requires frequent travel to customer sites (potentially 75% or more of the summer).
