About the role#
The New Homes Rotational Intern role offers a broad look at the homebuilding process. You will rotate through departments including Manufacturing, Architecture, Product Innovation, Construction, Warranty, Marketing, Market Research, Sales, and Supply Chain and Procurement. This internship provides experience in how communities move from initial design to final homeowner support.
What you'll do#
- Participate in structured rotations across multiple departments.
- Observe construction activities, quality inspections, buyer walkthroughs, and warranty visits.
- Learn how home designs evolve based on customer preferences and market research.
- Tour active communities, model homes, construction sites, and company offices.
- Assist teams with daily business activities, research, and specific projects.
- Learn how pricing, lead management, sales, and the contract-to-settlement process function.
- Attend professional development sessions, leadership discussions, and networking events.
- Collaborate with other interns on a final capstone presentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business, Real Estate, Marketing, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Communications, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well in a team and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and a willingness to learn.
- Valid Driver's License and personal transportation.
- Strong interest in residential real estate, homebuilding, construction, sales, or customer experience.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time position based in Ashburn, Virginia.
- The program runs for 8 weeks, from early June 2027 through early August 2027.
- Interns will work from various office locations, model homes, and construction sites, requiring local travel.
- This position is paid at a rate of $15.00 per hour.
