About the role#
Valeo is seeking a VPS/Process Co-Op for the Fall 2026 term to support the optimization and implementation of production processes. This position offers hands-on experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Support the implementation of Valeo Production System (VPS) tools and methodologies, including 5S, Standardized Work, SMED, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
- Collect and analyze production data to monitor performance and identify trends.
- Create and update process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
- Support root cause analysis of production issues and assist in developing corrective actions.
- Contribute to projects aimed at reducing waste and improving operational effectiveness.
- Present findings and recommendations to team members and management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
- Availability for a full-time co-op position in Fall 2026.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and prior experience in a manufacturing environment are considered assets.
