Information Systems Intern

About the role#

As an Information Systems Intern, you will design and deploy a secure laboratory environment from scratch at the Troy, MI facility. Working under the mentorship of senior IS team members, you will explore how autonomous AI agents can be integrated into modern information systems and help increase the team's AI literacy.

What you'll do#

• Design, setup, and maintain a local sandbox environment dedicated to testing LLMs and Agentic AI frameworks.
• Research and prototype methods for autonomous AI agents to automate and optimize internal information systems and workflows.
• Manage the lab infrastructure using Linux environments and containerized applications.
• Document findings, create proof-of-concepts, and showcase prototypes to the IS team to drive AI exposure.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on Artificial Intelligence.
• Solid foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, including access controls, secure configurations, and data privacy.
• Strong hands-on familiarity with Linux, specifically Ubuntu.
• Practical experience with container engines such as Podman or Docker.
• Foundational knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and interest in Agentic AI frameworks.
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
