About the role#
As an Operational Due Diligence (ODD) intern, you will assist in the initial and ongoing review of alternative investment managers across various asset classes. These include hedge funds, public equities, private equity, venture capital, real estate, and infrastructure. You will work alongside experienced investment professionals and have opportunities for professional development, including mentorship and networking.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with ODD and investment team members on external manager reviews.
- Strengthen relationships with existing investment managers on the UTIMCO platform.
- Manage post-diligence data and materials provided by investment managers.
- Participate in external manager meetings.
- Prepare internal memos for review and potential investment committee submission.
- Capture relevant information into UTIMCO systems for firmwide use.
- Communicate with operations and investment teams regarding ODD items.
- Complete various scheduled and ad hoc projects.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your Sophomore year or equivalent credit load.
- Current studies in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or related fields.
- Strong interest in the investment industry and curiosity about operational, accounting, compliance, and technology issues.
- High attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
- A collegial approach, sound judgment, and a constructive attitude.
- Unquestioned honesty, integrity, and transparency.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located in Austin, Texas.
- The program runs from June 1, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
- The role requires an on-site, hybrid presence of 4 days per week.
- Employees are subject to personal trading compliance requirements and reporting obligations.
