Student Financial Services Specialist

About the role#

The Student Financial Services Specialist serves as a business analyst, bridging the gap between student financial functional needs and technical solutions. This role focuses on improving business efficiencies through data analysis, system maintenance, and cross-departmental collaboration with Enrollment Management and IT divisions.

What you'll do#

• Support student financial information systems, including annual updates, system testing, and daily production schedules.
• Complete data analytics and reporting for federal, state, and institutional requests.
• Design and maintain custom user reports for departmental needs.
• Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
• Manage the life cycle of office computer hardware and software, including troubleshooting operating system and network issues.
• Maintain confidentiality and secure student records while advising on FERPA compliance and data privacy.
• Create documentation and provide training to end users regarding system features.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor's degree with two years of experience, an Associate's degree with four years of experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling six years.
• Demonstrated experience creating SQL code.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and operating system issues.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with PL/SQL, .Net, and Drupal is considered helpful.
