About the role#
This position offers an opportunity for a medical student to gain experience in Radiology within an emergency department setting. You will provide administrative support to the team while working alongside Radiology residents. This is a part-time role with a schedule of less than 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Answer incoming calls and relay detailed messages to the appropriate staff.
- Assist Radiology residents with protocoling CT exams for emergency room patients.
- Maintain and organize records and filing systems.
- Compile basic data and perform data entry tasks using Microsoft Office.
- Operate office equipment, including telephones, computers, fax machines, and photocopiers.
- Prepare bulk mailings and update mailing lists as needed.
- Deliver and retrieve documents across the campus.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
- Good standing within the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
- Fluency in English to communicate effectively with the Radiology team.
- Accurate typing and data entry skills.
- Knowledge of general customer service practices.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
