About the role#
University Hospitals is hiring a Limited Permit Respiratory Student for a PRN position in Conneaut, Ohio. This role is for students currently enrolled in a respiratory care program who want to gain clinical experience. You will perform basic respiratory competencies under supervision and eventually provide care independently after verifying your education and completing required training.
What you'll do#
- Deliver medicated aerosols and oxygen or humidity therapy.
- Perform airway clearance therapy.
- Monitor patients using bedside spirometry, noninvasive monitors, and ECG.
- Assist with special procedures including CPR, data collection, and equipment setup.
- Maintain patient records and secure Protected Health Information (PHI) according to hospital policies.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited respiratory care program.
- A valid Ohio Limited Practice Permit.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous student clinical experience.
- Experience with basic respiratory therapy procedures is preferred.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
