About the role#
The United States Air Force offers a civilian career path through the PALACE Acquire Program. This internship provides a structured 2 or 3 year training plan designed to transition you into a permanent position. You will work on professional development while navigating complex problem-solving tasks within the agency. Successful performance and supervisory approval allow for yearly salary increases and promotions throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and evaluate cyber operations.
- Complete developmental assignments and training as outlined in your formal plan.
- Handle moderately difficult and complex assignments using established tactics and procedures.
- Determine the best methods to complete conventional tasks and resolve factual or procedural issues.
- Carry out special projects and participate in agency initiatives and studies.
- Prepare written and oral correspondence and other necessary documentation.
What you'll need#
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level, demonstrated by a GPA of 2.95 or higher, class standing in the upper third, or membership in a national scholastic honor society.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and a Special Sensitive security clearance.
- Willingness to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
- Registration with or exemption from the Selective Service for males born after December 31, 1959.
- Ability to serve a one-year probationary period or two-year trial period.
Location & details#
- Positions are available on-site in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Schriever AFB, Colorado; and Offutt AFB, Nebraska.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- You may be required to relocate during or after your training.
