About the role#
Union General Hospital is hiring a Surgical Tech Student to perform technical and central sterile duties. You will work under the direction of the OR Manager and the circulating nurse to support surgical procedures and maintain facility standards.
What you'll do#
- Prepare operating rooms with the necessary instruments, sutures, and equipment.
- Serve as a scrub tech in accordance with procedure standards.
- Assist the registered nurse with needle, sponge, and instrument counts.
- Prepare patients for their surgeries.
- Sterilize equipment and manage inventory to ensure adequate supply levels.
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies to the surgeon during operations.
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical process.
