About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern position at the UC Health Business Center offers a learning environment that integrates clinical and operational pharmacy experience. This part-time role requires 20 hours per week during the first shift and provides exposure to interdisciplinary patient care, medication history, and formulary management within an academic health system. There are no on-call requirements for this position.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy leadership in delivering pharmacy services, including medication counseling, patient education, and interdisciplinary patient care rounds.
- Assist the Drug Policy Development Committee by maintaining records, developing educational memos for new drugs, and formatting clinical guidelines.
- Conduct medication use evaluations and assess compliance with the health-system formulary.
- Provide drug information responses upon request and communicate alternatives during drug shortages.
- Participate in orientation, training, and staff meetings to maintain professional competence.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and the enhancement of medication-related technology.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current acceptance to or enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid pharmacy intern registration recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
- 0-6 months of equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under time constraints.
- Ability to adapt to changing workloads, set priorities, and collaborate effectively with health-system staff.

- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week, first shift.
- Compensation: $19.96/hr – $27.86/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.
