Structural Engineering Intern

About the role#

The Structural Engineering Intern will join the TULLOCH team in Huntsville to provide engineering solutions for bridges, buildings, and utility-scale power generating facilities. This role reports to the Project Manager and involves working with both private and government sector clients throughout Ontario.

What you'll do#

• Perform pre-engineering inspections and surveys.
• Complete, check, and review technical deliverables, including reports, technical notes, drawings, and engineering calculations.
• Prepare plans, proposals, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications.
• Complete preliminary and detailed design and specifications for structural projects, such as transportation structures and commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
• Assist with project management, construction administration, tenders, and cost estimates.
• Participate in public and stakeholder consultations and perform construction inspections.

What you'll need#

• University degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered Civil Engineering Intern.
• 0-3 years of experience in the civil/structural consulting industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
• Valid Class G driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel when necessary.
• Building Code knowledge or a BCIN is considered an asset.
• Bridge design experience is considered an asset.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Compensation: $75,000 - $92,000 annually, including benefits and a company pension plan.
