Civil Engineering Technician (Fall Student)

About the role#

The Civil Engineering Technician (Fall Student) position at TULLOCH is a full-time, on-site role based in Huntsville, Ontario. This opportunity runs from September through December 2026 and focuses on supporting civil and water resources engineering project delivery. You will work within a team environment, with a primary focus on construction inspection and site fieldwork.

What you'll do#

• Perform and assist with construction inspections on various projects.
• Support the preparation of plans, proposals, specifications, supporting documents, reports, and permit applications.
• Assist with stormwater management design and other water resources management projects.
• Develop site plan documents, including site services, grading, and drainage.
• Assist with civil engineering design for municipal infrastructure.
• Collaborate on subdivision development projects.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a relevant field of study, such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or Water Resources.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• A valid Class G driver’s licence and willingness to travel for daily site inspections and fieldwork.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is considered an asset.
• Experience with Total Station and GPS survey equipment is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with software such as OttHymo, MIDUSS, or the Rational Method is considered an asset.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
