About the role#
The Structural Engineering Intern will join the team in Sault Ste. Marie to provide engineering solutions for bridges, buildings, and utility scale power generating facilities. This role reports to the Project Manager and involves supporting private and government sector clients throughout Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Perform pre-engineering inspections, surveys, and construction inspections.
- Complete, check, and review technical deliverables including reports, technical notes, drawings, and engineering calculations.
- Prepare plans, proposals, specifications, permit applications, and supporting documents.
- Complete preliminary and detailed design for structural projects such as transportation structures and commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.
- Assist with tenders, cost estimates, project management, and construction administration.
- Participate in public and stakeholder consultation.
What you'll need#
- University degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Registered Civil Engineering Intern status.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in the civil or structural consulting industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
- Valid Class G driver’s licence.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and willingness to travel when necessary.
- Building Code knowledge or a BCIN is considered an asset.
