About the role#
Troutman Strategies is hiring interns for the 2027 Georgia Legislative Session. This is a full-time, paid opportunity for college students and beyond to gain experience with the Georgia General Assembly and government affairs professionals. You will work on-site at the Georgia State Capitol during the 40-day legislative session, starting in early January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and attend committee hearings at the State Capitol.
- Take notes and write summaries for clients and the team.
- Conduct research to prepare weekly reports, briefs, and memos on legislative actions.
- Use tracking software to monitor client legislation.
- Organize and staff events held on and off site.
- Support the Government Affairs team by tracking policy changes and emerging government activities.
What you'll need#
- Current college student status or higher.
- A strong interest in government affairs.
- Ability to conduct thorough research.
- Solid note-taking and summarizing skills.
- A motivated and growth-oriented mindset.
- Preferred majors include Political Science, Business Administration, Communications, Public Health, or Economics.

- Compensation: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour.
